Federation National League Champions

 

  1. The Board shall decide the format relating to all placements in divisions and/or sections as well as promotions and relegations in each division and/or section only one match shall be played between each team. Each match shall comprise as a home or away leg to be played on the same date. Teams shall consist of twelve players both home and away. Only two players may be selected to play in the home leg on a green that they are playing members, or are members of a team who rent, hire, or lease that green and play their domestic League and Cup matches on that green. Where an Affiliate has more than one team, players who have played for a lower Div team in the current season, or, in the case of the first match of the season, have been named on the team sheet of the lower division team, may move up to a higher div for one match only and then will be able to revert back to the lower div for the rest of the season. Any subsequent appearance in a higher div shall automatically tie such player to that team.

 

  1. Order of play shall be sent to each other and to the League Coordinator on the 16th day before each match by first class post or e-mail. The list of teams numbered 1-12 shall be paired, no deviation. Any players absent when called must be replaced and shall thereafter not play in the match. Home players shall be numbered according to the match sheet. The order of play can be changed by agreement of the two Captains i.e. game one could be played at game six or vice versa, the two opposing players must not be changed.

 

  1. All matches shall have qualified referees in attendance where possible at the home leg and a measurer for both home and away teams. If a referee is not available both Captains to take responsibility. Only greens of affiliates shall be played and may only be used once during the season. Notification of venue with precise directions for reaching same shall be included with details referred to in (B).

 

  1. Practice shall be allowed strictly between the following times: Home team - 1:151:30pm, away team - 1:35pm – 1:50pm. Start time 2.00pm unless delayed by inclement weather. All games are 21 up and 4 games always to be in progress until completed. The home team is to provide score display and all measuring equipment.

 

  1. Results from each game shall be 1 point awarded for each individual win and 2 points for each aggregate win, plus 4 further points for overall aggregate win with points shared if tied i.e. 32 points available in total. Official home match score sheets to be signed by opposing captains and referees and sent by first class post to the League Coordinator. The match results to be sent meanwhile by e-mail to the League Coordinator as soon as practicable after the match.

 

  1. Divisional tables, the winners of each division and/or section shall be the team with the most points. Teams liable to be relegated shall be those with least points. In the case of a tie on points the following order of elimination shall apply.

 

1)    If a tie on points – The team with the most overall match wins.

2)    If still a tie     - Best chalks difference.

3)    If still a tie     - Highest aggregate.

 

  1. Games can be re-arranged by mutual agreement but this must be done before the 31st March. In the event of no agreement being reached then the original date shall be adhered to. If still in dispute then the matter shall be referred back to the Board whose decision shall be final. No games to be re-arranged for after the designated   League fixture date in August.   
  2. Abandonment of Games due to bad weather. The venue where the game was not played, the points to be shared equally. The result from the venue where a game has been played result to stand. If the game is not played either home or away points to be shared equally. If a match has to be abandoned during play the points of the remaining games to be shared and added to the points of the games already played. Part played games score at abandonment to stand. A match not started will be delayed till 3.30 before being called off unless by prior agreement by the Captains
  3. All games to be played according to B.C.G.B.A rules including B.C.G.B.A dress code
  4. Disabled Bowlers to be allowed to receive all the help they need, by any gender, on the green, to enable them to play matches with their able bodied colleagues.
  5. Bowls Buggies There must be some part of the footplate, however small, on the mat when the disabled bowler is sending the jack or bowl.

L  Any affiliate who does not fulfil a fixture,by not fielding a team in either the home or away leg,will receive no points from that leg . The teams opponents will be awarded the offending teams worst defaulting leg score from fully completed fixtures on completion of all divisional fixtures  .( equating to the 12 individual games played + 2 aggregate points -14 points in total ) These points ,+ the 4 overall aggregate points ,will be added to the score of the legwhich was playedto produce the overall match score.

 

If an affiliate fails to fulfil a fixture by not fielding a team in both legs , then they will be awarded no points from that fixture. The teams opponents will be awarded the offending teams worst match score from fully completed fixtures on completion of all the divisional fixtures.
